Another Day Alone

I am  home alone again today (seriously, I hate working 2 days a week!) but yesterday wasn't too bad. T picked me up at 11 to go to a going away party for Lt. R and Senior Chief. We had a beach BBQ and it was nice to meet even more people and have some fun outside. (T's face got so burnt that he looks like a lobster. I cannot look at him without laughing!)

Today I'll be home alone all day soooo I am going to try to keep myself busy. Gotta clean the kitchen and put away our laundry (I hate putting away our laundry, especially because we don't have a dresser). I think I a going to take a trip to the MCX to see if I can find a thank you gift for my bosses, for being so amazing to me over the years. Then, I am going to make my ceremony script, Wedding day timeline, and shopping list for all our last minute wedding things (because we're going to the Fashion District in LA on Sunday. They have the best wedding stores!). Hopefully when I finish all this stuff is when T will be home then we are going out to San Diego for our anniversary dinner.

And now, maybe because I am procrastinating a little, It's time for Friday Fill In with Wife of a Sailor!

1.Do you think civilians, in general, understand the meaning of Memorial Day?
I am not too sure, when I wasn't involved with someone in the military I just saw it as another day off. So I am sure many think the same of it.

2.What are your plans for the Memorial Day Weekend?
Well, tonight T and I are going to San Diego for dinner. Saturday we may hang with friends then Sunday we're going to LA. That's all that is planned so far.

3.What skill/talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could be a master chef! I can cook but I wish I could cook like they do on "Chopped", like make delicious food out of anything. One day!

4.Which came first: the chicken or the egg?
The chicken, because God put it here. Haha the end.

5.What is the best thing about your post (base)?
Urgh, nothing! Okay, that's me just being dramatic, because I really dislike it here but I must say, the best beach is on base! There is sand for days! I normally never get in the water, but the waves are always nice.

Time Flies When You're In Love

Today is T and I's 2 year anniversary! We were talking about it yesterday and T asked,

"What has it been? 2 years? That's crazy"

Totally crazy because it feels like just yesterday when I met my now future husband. My previous relationship had just ended, and I definitely was not looking for anything serious, just someone to hang with. He was a sooo cute but I was sure I wasn't his type and turns out he thought I was out of his league. I think because we were so sure that neither of us liked one another we were just being ourselves when we hug out.

At first it was a little rocky. TJ has an interesting personality. He will call something as he sees it and he wasn't so nice about it. But I ended up liking it and him. For the next 2 weeks we were inseparable. We did everything from San Diego up to LA.

One of the moments I look back on that makes me laugh is one night T, me and a bunch of friends all went camping together. We took a walk alone and started talking about his impending deployment. I told him,

" I think I can be in love with you"

and he says, "I think I can be in love with you too"

Then I ask, "What is going to happen to us when you deploy?"

He says something along the lines that we will still be together, just he would be over there and I'd be over here. "Then when I come back we will get married"

At that point I was like WHATTTT we cannot be rushing into stuff like that. We will have to see how everything goes when you come back before we can even go there. But while he was gone we realized we were really meant for each other. And here we are today, about to have our wedding in 30 days!

It seriously seems like all this happened yesterday. I miss the excitement of our dating days but I am excited for all our adventures as a married couple. Time really does fly when you're in love!

P.S I was planning on posting pics but Blogger is being stupid as usual!

Mustache? And Other Randoms

Okay, first let me acknowledge (idk why I haven't already, I was so excited when it happened) that I have 100 followers!! AHH, I never thought I would be anywhere near this point when I started and I am so happy I can share my life with you wonderful people!

Alright, so this is what I was going to talk about...

That is a hair Mustache(Not to be confused with Justin's amazing Mustache)... Today I was talking (and, of course, making the Mustache) to my friend Erin and she said I make the Mustache a lot. And I realized. OMG I do make the Mustache all the time. Just like above. It is like a nervous tick. For example, I made it while I was picking the starch for my reception dinner (that was a tough choice) and I was making it today when I was talking to Erin (I forget what it was about, but it was something deep haha).

So I cannot wait to cut my hair off so I am unable to make the hair Mustache. Because subconsciously doing it in public is getting embarrassing.

P.S Funniest convo just happened...

Aunt Jacque: (who is only a couple years older than T, and pregnant): "You and Delainey should have a Honeymoon baby, then our baby, Matt's (T's cousin, whose wife is preggo) baby, and your baby can all be best friends."

T: "Okay, you should name your baby Truck and I'll name mine Bed and when they play together people can say, Look! There goes Truck Bed."

Jacque: "Umm, maybe it's good that you guys aren't having a baby."

Hi My Name Is Delainey, And I'm a Graduate

Well, I graduated Saddleback College with my Associates in Liberal Studies on Friday. It is a small milestone in my education, but to me, it was a big deal. I think milestones are important. They remind us that we are on the right track, and that much closer to achieving our goals. Anyhow, I loved it and I forgot how exciting it was to be in a Commencement Ceremony.

And without further adieu, it's picture time! (these are just form my camera, my parents have some really good ones!)

 Before
(TJ said we looked like we belonged in Hogwarts with our Caps & Gowns. He's a silly boy.)

I got a hug from the President, no big whoop!

 After

My Lovely Family! My nephew just wanted to play with his balloon.

Where are my eyes? Haha. T & I

It was so hot, hence why we're so sweaty! My wonderful Bosses.
Without them I would be lost.

Beautiful Mel. I am seriously going to miss this girl.
And I am super Jealous she is going to school in England.
Classmates!

Wedding Updates!

Gris at A Little Piece Of My World has reminded me that I haven't talked about my wedding in a long time. I guess everything has been falling into place so I am not really stressing about it. No Stress=Not On My Mind.

But since we are officially only 38 days away, here's whats up (picture style, in chronological order)!

Here are our invites, made by yours truly =]

Front & Back

I am debating on whether I want to take our pre-wedding bridal party photos at San Clemente Pier, where there is a really nice grassy area that looks over the beach and pier (I searched long and hard and couldn't find a pic of it, so here's the best one I could find)

I am gearing towards the beach because it is California, in the summer! The Beach is so beautiful, and oh soo Californian! I need your help ladies! What do you think?

We are getting married here, The Rancho San Clemente Tennis Club

The handsome groomsmen will be wearing tux's (I think it'll be really nice to break the military attire, after all, it's all I ever see. AND my lovely will look SMOKIN' in a tux) similar to this but with purple vests & ties.

Bridesmaids will be wearing this in purple

I will be wearing...JUST KIDDING!! That is a surprise =]

For ceremony decor I will be making these "flower balls" to hang off the chairs

We also are getting married under a Gazebo that is going to be draped in tulle, with those pomanders hanging inside it. I also was thinking about doing some design with the flower pedals up the aisle. Something like this,

But I feel like it is too structured and "posh" for my outdoor, country-esq wedding. Hmm.. there will be more thinking on that one.

My daddy (who is also my officiant!) will be walking me down the aisle to this song

Our reception will be at the same place. I already blogged about the yum, yumms so check that out here.

We will also be having a candy bar. My mom's friend, who is an amazing wedding planner (and helping me with our wedding here and there) is doing our candy bar. Here is an example of one she did at a kid's birthday. Obviously ours will be a tad different.

Yumm

My lovely Mother in Law will be doing our centerpieces. What we talked about doing is so hard to describe but I assure you they will be beautiful!  It will include flowers, pictures of us, and possibly a few small candles.

And the last thing that can really be planned is our first dance song, which will be to this

After that we will be dancing the night away! I am so excited. The only thing's I have left to work on is all the DIY stuff I will be doing, like the pomanders & bouquets/boutineers.  I also need to make an agenda for the day, as well as a ceremony script. Oh! And I have to make sure everyone RSVP's because apparently, people don't think that is necessary.

So that's the wedding update!! I hope you enjoyed!

We, We, We, We So Excited!

Oh my gosh!! T and I are so excited for the upcoming adventures in our life.
  •  I graduate this Friday with my Associates Degree in Liberal Studies (I am about to go shopping for something to wear under my regalia!)
  •
  •  Our Wedding of course!
  • T is putting in for his early out, so he will be EAS-ing  in a year (this is pretty terrifying to me, but our family and the military are due to part ways.)
  • T and I have decided we will save up to take one exciting trip per year. Our first being our honeymoon to the Dominican Republic. Then when we EAS we will be taking a congratulatory road-trip of the US. Then we will take it from there. We are going to use all our pre-baby years to see the world! (Seriously, that might sound silly, but we will see the world, or at least part of it)
  • After (or before depending on how everything pans out) we will be moving out of O-Town! Depending on where T gets into film school, LA or Utah, we will be moving! I am hoping to move to LA BUT if we move to Utah we could buy a house. So we shall see where the wind takes us!
Gah! Just thinking about all the good things that are to come makes me so happy! Me (being the planning person that I am)  am really excited we have some type of plan. It is not a life plan, but a plan nonetheless.

I love it!

That'll Be The Last Time I Ask...

So I am a member of 20 Something Bloggers. A place for just for bloggers in the 20's. One forum I participated in was "The Official How Can I Improve My Blog" forum. I though it would be nice to get come constructive feedback on my content. Granted, it's my blog, I write whatever I want and feel and I wont be changing that, I was just curious. So this is the response I got from a fellow 20SB member:

Hi Delainey, I saw you hadn't gotten any feedback yet so I thought I'd check out your blog!     The first thing I noticed was that it's very busy. You've got every kind of possible feed going on and things scrolling on your sidebar and a bright yellow background. It kind of made my head hurt after a while. However, I guess this matches your personality because you use a lot of italics, bold, capital letters, and exclamation points so you seem like a really enthusiastic/excitable person. Not my style, but you seem to have a good number of readers, so it's working for you to some extent. Your content seems pretty scarce. I mean, most of your content seems to be blog memes (questionnaires, song linkups, Wordless Wednesday, soliciting reader questions). When you take the initiative to write something yourself it's mostly a few paragraphs complaining about something or other going on in your life. As a visitor, I don't see anything that really makes me want to stay and read. Nothing particularly thoughtful or helpful, just a lot of dramatic whining. I mean, the tag that has the second-highest number of posts out of all your tags is "Bleh." I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I can't think of a nicer way to put it!    You asked for honest feedback, and this is what I see. Even though you're probably not liking me too much right now, I'm going to offer some unsolicited advice, and that is to really put some effort into communicating with your future husband. Right now I don't get the sense that you have a trusting and mutually respectful relationship, and you can't be running off to post something every time he does something that annoys you. If you don't want him to leave the vacuum in the middle of the room, you have to tell him instead of just leaving it and hoping he'll get the hint. If you want him to say thank you more often, tell him that's important to you. Check out the book Spousonomics for a better way to approach household chores; the book The Five Love Languages for understanding how you show and expect love; and the podcast One Extraordinary Marriage for advice on building all levels of intimacy (physical, emotional, financial, etc.). Good luck with your blog, your upcoming wedding, and your marriage!

Maybe I am being a tad bit defensive but isn't this a tad bit rude? I mean, I feel like she's critiquing my life. And the comments about T & I's relationship? Who does this beeotch think she is commenting about my life and relationship!? Looks to me someone needs to get off their high horse.

I guess that is the last time I'll ever ask for Blog feedback. I love my blog, and I write whatever I feel. I never planned on writing something profound every day. I just planned on writing about me, my life, my stories, my marriage.

P.S Dramatic Whining? Last time I checked expressing one's feelings was a healthy action...
