Wedding News!

First I would like to thank all you lovely ladies who congratulated me on my engagement! I am happy I get to share so many moments with my bloggy friends and I am grateful I always get positive responses. And to all my new followers, welcome to my blog! And for everyone whose blogs I've been neglecting I apologize and I promise I will catch up on all your posts soon!

I have been SO EXCITED to show off my ring at work. T was even excited for me to show it off. It is still super weird to see it on my finger, it feels fake. Like I am not actually engaged. BUT ITS REAL!

Anyway, back to my point. My point is to update you on some wedding news!

So we have a date we are entertaining. June 18th. It is perfect in our books. T's best friend and best man comes home from his Mission on June 8th then the following weekend he can fly out to our neck of the woods for the wedding. Plus it will give us a good amount of time to plan without being engaged for forever.

T and I have to sit down and make a wedding budget then my Mom and I are going to sort all the to-do's. I am pretty on the fence about what I would like to do. We have some amazing all inclusive wedding venues near us but they can get pretty pricey. Especially in June. OR If I want to do everything myself (with the help of friends and family of course) but if I do that I will need to hire a wedding coordinator because there is only so much my friends and family can do, especially the day of .

SO LADIES!!  I need your help!

What did you do for your wedding? Or what would you do? Did you have a coordinator/planner or did you do it all solo?

I look forward to your feedback! ( I will probably be asking for a lot of feedback from you ladies. Weather you are married, engaged, dating or single I would love to hear your thoughts!)

So fun! I got married on June 19th of this year and my sister in law is getting married on June 18th of next year as well so apparantly it is a good date to choose! I knew way before I got engaged everything I wanted at my wedding. I even had my cake picked out. ha. I got lucky and the place I chose was all inclusive, so that saved a lot of time and worry for me! I didn't use a coordinator me and my mom pretty much just knocked everything out together! My best advice is to just enjoy it! My husband and I were apart the whole time I was planning the wedding so it was hard having to see him miss out on so many things, and in turn I got really discouraged. So I wish I would have enjoyed the planning process more because it all goes way to fast! But good luck with your planning can't wait to hear more details!

I hired a wedding planner, but I only had 4 months to plan my wedding so I needed some help! Also, both of our families are in different states/countries so I didn't have anyone near me until close to the wedding to help with things. Your date sounds like a great amount of time to be engaged and y'all should be fine doing things yourselves, especially with help from family. However, on the day of..I definitely recommend a planner. It was amazing not having to worry about anything on the day of and knowing that we had a professional to take care of everything. Happy planning!

Congratulations on your engagement! If you need some wedding inspiration, my blog has a whole section on weddings. But since I have never been married I can't help you out with that!

We got married at the courthouse & then did a reception at my parents. My mom & I did everything, but I am not into big, expensive weddings, so that made it easy for me. If you are planning something with a lot of guests I would suggest hiring someone b/c it is easy to forget about the little details. Can't wait to see wedding pics :)

Congrats!!
I was such a laid back bride I didn't really care too much, I just wanted everyone to have fun. It was such a success!
Me, My Family and My Friends did everything. No wedding coordinator at all. My mom in law did the flowers even! But I dont suggest that. She was off her rocker stressed.
Keep in mind that most venues will have a "coordinator" on site for the day of. So if you think you can do all the pre wedding stuff with out the help of a pro I would suggest it. The important part is to have someone take care of the dirty work on the day of. At our venue we had an on site coordinator. It was helpful.
Talk to friends of friends for things like DJ, photographer, florist, cake etc. People who are up and coming but still great charge less than someone you find online or something.
Thats all the info I have for now. I'll stay tuned!

I am not yet married, but when we get married I plan on getting a Wedding Planner, just because I tend to focus on something small and loose sight of all the important things that need to be done.
Congrats on the Engagement!
I am so glad I found your blog!
