I Broke My Promise

Okay- I started writing this on July 20th...

Well, I had a really good cleaning post written for today BUT it just didn't flow right. It needs some refining and some sparkle to it. Unfortunately I do not have the time to make it into the most fabulous post I wanted it to be (as the first post of my new blog style it needs to be perfect!) because I'm in the middle of homework, packing stuff for storage, packing stuff for tomorrow, applying for jobs and looking for houses.

Anyhow, I'm a little bummed but

NOW- So this is when my husband came in and completely distracted me. Needless to say, I didn't finish my post, nor, not until now, had the desire to.

Life has been so crazy lately and is finally settling down.

July 22 was my husbands last day in the Navy, that's right folks, mt husband is officially a FREE MAN!

After this with our new found freedom we went to go see family in St. George, Salt Lake, Washington, Idaho and lastly found our new home in San Francisco.

T started school at the Academy of Art (look at my boy so grown up!)
and is growing what we fondly refer to as the Freedom Beard

Overall life has been good and much different but we are enjoying it as it comes. I hope to get back into blogging soon. Now that I am writing again I have realized that I sure do miss it.

Neglect

Oh dear Blog, I am so sorry for neglecting you! School was to blame. Seriously. For the past few weeks I have been sooo overwhelmed with schoolwork and being a housewife (ever since I quit working I am pretty sure I have lost my mind, I forget to turn off the engine while filling the car up, I constantly leave the keys on the front seat when I leave the car, I leave my blender on the stove and completely melt it, urgh but I digress...)

So for those of you who follow me on twitter and even Facebook, you probably know a little what is going on in my life, but if you don't, here it goes!

My husband dropped and broke my DSLR camera, so it sits in pieces on our dinning room table =[.
Since we cannot afford to fix it right now, the holidays will be pretty low on pictures this year.

Thanksgiving was at our apartment. It was such a great time! 8 people in our little apartment. Our dining table only seats 4, so we got pretty creative with it. We also did a very non-traditional Thanksgiving. We has a seafood Thanksgiving. Oh it was soooo delishhh.

It's Christmas time! And we have gotten into the holiday spirit at our house. Since this is our first Christmas together we do not have much decorations (they are expensive! I plan on going after Christmas and stocking up!) but we do have a fabulous tree...

It took us hoursss and 2,500 lights to light up this beast!

I also made this fabulous wreath with my lovely friend Erin (thanks Pinterest!)

I have finally finished this Semester. Longest 8 week session of my life! But I finally get to sell this nasty stack of books and get them out of my life!

I watched this documentary on Netflix, "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" (oh it is soo good! you have to watch it) basically it convinced me to go on a juice fast and I convinced T to do it with me. My plan was to fast for 10 days but after 4 days of just this...
We broke down and had to eat real food. But in the 4 days, I could tell I lost weight (we do not have a scale) I just wish I had the willpower to do the whole 10 days. But it was a good, eating healthy jump start.

Some more exciting stuff has happened but I am going to save that for another post. It's such a big deal it deserves its own post.

I love you all and I hope you all have a fabulous holidays with your friends and family!

Hi My Name Is Delainey, And I'm a Graduate

Well, I graduated Saddleback College with my Associates in Liberal Studies on Friday. It is a small milestone in my education, but to me, it was a big deal. I think milestones are important. They remind us that we are on the right track, and that much closer to achieving our goals. Anyhow, I loved it and I forgot how exciting it was to be in a Commencement Ceremony.

And without further adieu, it's picture time! (these are just form my camera, my parents have some really good ones!)

 Before
(TJ said we looked like we belonged in Hogwarts with our Caps & Gowns. He's a silly boy.)

I got a hug from the President, no big whoop!

 After

My Lovely Family! My nephew just wanted to play with his balloon.

Where are my eyes? Haha. T & I

It was so hot, hence why we're so sweaty! My wonderful Bosses.
Without them I would be lost.

Beautiful Mel. I am seriously going to miss this girl.
And I am super Jealous she is going to school in England.
Classmates!

I Am Pretty Sure My Sociology Paper Has Turned Into One Big Blog

So my lunch break is just about over and I have spent most of it writing my Sociology paper and another part of it catching up on commenting on everyone's blogs. I am pretty amazed and rather annoyed that while writing this paper I have to try may hardest NOT to write in blog form (with my random italicized interjections and my words in all CAPS and bolded for emphasis) but I can't!

Why can't everything I do for my coursework be just one big blog? I would knock everything out so fast!

Oh snap, lunch is over! Happy Monday all!

My Week In Short

Disclaimer: This post is slightly all over the place, like my mind at the moment. P.S, I sat here for 5 minutes thinking about a catchy title, but I ended up with nothing, sorry for my lack of wit.

Alright, so now that you are forewarned here are a few things went down this week.

1. The Corpsman Ball was this past Friday. It was interesting, and to be honest, pretty boring, but it was nice to meet the people Teedle works with and his bosses. I also thoroughly enjoyed how tight T's pants were from behind. I wish I snapped a picture of it, everyone else sure did. We ended our night at the Ball pretty early, apparently too early. We missed all the juiciness. Note to self: Stay longer than you want to. You'll get to to whiteness all the drunken shenanigans.

2. The following day, we went to Disneyland and California Adventure to specifically see THE WORLD OF COLOR! Oh my goodness it was absolutely AMAZING! As a kid I used to think Fantasmic at Disneyland was incredibly majestic (Fantasmic is still amazing in my book). Now this new addition to California Adventure makes me feel like that astounded kid again. The World of Color is an magical water, laser, fire, bubbles, light and music show. It has EVERYTHING ! All of you need to make the trip to Anaheim to see this. It is life changing!

3. Sunday Teedle and I went to see Toy Story 3. A movie this great I will gladly wait 11 years for. Pixar never lets me down. I don't want to go into further detail because I don't want to ruin the movie but it touches on what we all go through when we essentially grow up. This is a must see as well. Seriously, perfect date movie. Oh, you must see it in 3-D. It is amazing how 3-D doesn't ruin movies anymore, it makes them BETTER!

4. I just started hitting the books again. My Summer classes began today and so far so good! Geography, well, there is not much to say about it, it fulfills one of my sciences requirement and my teacher seems very nice. My Child, Family and Community course I cannot wait to delve into. I am finally starting to take classes that pertain to my major!  I am also very excited that the two books needed for this class are in the Reserves at the campus library so I can get away with not buying books. Exciting, especially for my wallet.

That is all for now! I hope you all are having a great week!
Much Love,
Delainey

Cash for College!

I am extremely tired and as of right now my snuggley bed is trying to suck me down into a deep slumber, but I am still awake. Why? Well, to share some exciting news of course. I was informed 2 days ago that I have received a scholarship! I am so excited and touched to think that the scholarship committee feels that I deserve this reward to so I can further  my education. I cannot wait to see who my donors are and how much money I have been granted. This has put a fire back into my educational goals. For lack of better words, college is not really my thing, even though I am quite active on campus and in student government. I have been struggling with what I wanted to do after I received my Associates degree and I was truely leaning towards stopping school all together, but I'm beginning to think it is time to rethink my goals.

In any event, I am incredibly excited for the scholarship ceremony and extremely thankful to Saddleback College and whoever my donor is!

Now I MUST sleep.

Much Love,
Delainey
